Mikeb - It is not just children at these games it is also grandparents, aunts, uncles, and umpires. I have heard of umpires having heart attacks at games this year. Also last year we had a kids grandpa collapse and an ambulance had to be called. Please think of everyone and if it is not needed GREAT!! I'm sure everyone will be very happy, but if it is needed I'm sure they will be just as happy they have it. I am very sorry to hear this story. I believe in AED's - someone donated one to our high school and not long after someone was using the campus to cut through to a neighborhood - had a heart attack in his vehicle and his life was saved because of the AED. For your sake Mikeb I hope if you ever need one there is one close by. Have you noticed all the places they are now? They must be good for something. i am considering one for our youth church league for soccer, baseball, tball and basketball. If it saves one child it is worth it. |

Mikeb - you are one ignorant man. As for you Jill - I wish I had the time to do the same as you, because I know the importance of AED's. My husband, 6 yo son, and other family members have Long QT Syndrome and if they have an episode - a defibrillator is most likely their only hope of survival. I will do my best to help in this effort as well. |

I realize you guys feel powerless and that you need to do something, but this is totally ridiculous.
99.9999% of children are not going to just drop dead during a baseball game. Having an AED on-hand makes NO SENSE. The odds that you will save even one life in the entire existence of this foundation are essentially zero, but you will manage to spend *a lot* of other people's money to soothe your feelings of inadequacy.

Thank you for all your hard work. My son has HCM, Hypertrophic Cardiomyopathy, and could be one of those kids who needs an AED.
