As many of you know, my family and I are very dear friends of the Levines. Robbie was part of our lives from the time he was 18 months old and we each loved him with all our heart. Perhaps I have not yet been able to sumit an entry into this guestbook until now because his loss was too personal for me to put into words. But now I need to write something to acknowledge this wonderful community of Merrick for helping execute such an amazing run on Sunday, the first annual, in honor of Robbie. From the over 150 volunteers, those who attended many planning meetings, to those who came at the crack of dawn to set up or stayed until the last moment to clean up, to those who came to run or enjoy the day in honor of Robbie, it far exceeded expectations. It made me so proud to be part of such a cohesive, thoughtful community. It is a reflection on Merrick, on those from other towns who contributed, and of course on Jill and Craig and our beautiful Robbie that there was so much support given in his memory. |
